People are complicated; cis men and cis women often experience a chasm between them in the areas of communication and specifically the ability to express one’s emotional needs. Typically men in these relationships apply techniques they utilize in other areas to their attempts at connection. In this high tech society, the first response to something “not working” is to “turn it off and on again.” This piece shows the woman as object on a pedestal, no mouth, ears or brain, no legs for mobility, no arms for reaching out, a dehumanized reflection of the male gaze; and the male’s advice to making her work again, is to basically unplug her and plug her back in.
